DOTTIE GETS SPANKED (1993) M/f, otk, s, p and b
Spanking is a recurring theme in Todd Haynes' early films. Haynes fully realized themes of childhood and spanking in his 30-minute short DOTTIE GETS SPANKED(1993).
Todd Haynes’s rarely screened short is like a Freudian haiku: It centers on Stevie, a six-year-old boy who is obsessed with Dottie, the star of an “I Love Lucy”-like television show. Mother indulges his devotion, Father disapproves, and the girls on the school bus, who, unlike Stevie, can freely discuss their adoration of Dottie, think he’s a freak. Haynes subtly presents the forces acculturating an effeminate boy in the stilted atmosphere of fifties Long Island. In the face of this pressure, Stevie retains his poise and dwells on fantasies of revenge. By the end, the question of who does or doesn’t deserve to get spanked gains a remarkable intensity.
In a unique surreal dream sequence Stevie fantasizes about spanking. First about himself getting spanked, then his thoughts shift to the neighbours girl (about whose parental spankings he had heard whispers before) getting spanked. We see stylized versions of that spanking, when the girl gets spanked first on skirt, than on panties and finally with a silent movie written title as a preface (quoting Freuds "a hild being beaten") on the bare bottom.
This spanking remains the only bare bottom spanking of a girl in a mainstream movie, where the bare bottom is actually seen during the spanking.

The way the clip is shot, I could not tell if the bottom was bare, and whether it was the girl or the boy at that point.
ReplyDeleteI agree it's difficult to say in the lower quality resolution here, but I "investigated" the original clip, to make sure...under zoom one can see that either that bottom is bare or it is a very good flesh suit (sometimes used in movies for such occasions). You can also see under zoom that the spankee has long hair in the same style that the girl does; several years ago I also found on a site on mainstream movie spankings (now gone. I searched for it as a backup for my post here) a post about that scene, and there it is also assumed that it is ashley chapman, and bare bottomed.
