ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF VILLAFIORITA !!

With 20th of July 2011 villafiorita celebrated the firts year of its existence. Not many thought it would survive that long. I hope for many more years to come. 

As a birthday present I created a gif animation of the famous scene that gave the blog it's name but in a faked version, as a contribution to the way it could have been....just click on it, to watch the animation. And this es an exception of course, no ather fake animations allowed!

1970ies brazilian horror flic:

Interesting to us, because of a blog entry on a forum for "palmadas e telenovelas" whre a contributor called "anonymous" says this (rough google translator translation):

 
"Who's afraid of a werewolf", Reginaldo Faria, a movie is pretty lame, but it has a little girl who takes a beating on the bottom belt. She lifts her skirt and her father gives her several belts in the butt in front of the whole family.

I could see the film in the meantime and it is clear, that its no little girl in that scene but a young woman. Its also not a belting but a whipping.  I consider it therefore to be wrongly reported.

TIMOTHY’S QUEST (1936) m/f, otk, s

Two stills appeared from the movie “Timothy’s Quest” which is also entered this blog on the “still searching” list. In the Best Interest of the Children is a fact-based TV film.


The film opens with Callie Cain leading her kids in singing along as she moves back to her hometown of Estherville, Iowa with her 4 young daughters and boyfriend Ray. The family soon finds themselves living in poverty, with oldest child Jessi forced to play mother to her younger sisters (Julie, Susan, and Cindy) and brother. A short time later, Ray leaves them after Jessi threatens to kill him if he ever touches any of them again, and Callie continues on a downward spiral, drinking and crawling into bed with men while neglecting her children.

The scene in question takes place directly before Ray's leaving. The middle sister Susan receives an - aborted - otk spanking in the cellar for spilling paint over the new couch. Here older sister saves her, though we see one spank landing.

This clip comes from a classic german family comedy from the 1950ies, starring great comedian Heinz Erhardt. Its title would translate into "father, mother and nine children". It involves the very innocent "adventures" of the family father, a baker, getting mixed up with another person who supposedly had a night pub life.

In the scene in question his 13 year old daughter has a very interesting conversation with her boyfriend.  This is, what they are saying:

Anni: „If father would know that I am skipping school, he’d certainly put my across his knee“

The humour in it being the fact that her father is portrayed as being a very mild person, barely able to hurt a fly - whichmeans that she is teasing her boyfriend on purpose

Not much is known about this clip, only that it is coming from asian television (korean probably) and seems to be kind of a remake.

"Das Doppelte Lottchen" still is a very popular children's book in Germany, and all over the world. Written by Erich Kästner, the book has been turned into countless movies, being also the original on which the american "Parent Trap" by David Swift and its many remakes are oficially based on.

The story is well-known, and revolves around two girls who find out that they are separated twins, and decide to change identities, in order to reunite their divorced parents. This, of course, leads to many complicated and funny situations.

In this scene, which fortunately I found with english subtitles provided, the two twins openly talk about spanking and are even joking about it.

This funny short film with 7 minutes in length does not actually contain a full fledged spanking, but a good offscreen whack in the end , and it has a very on - topic story:

From the 1960ies family drama which today is seen as the inspiration and direct bluprint for "The Waltons".

Being an  updated version of the famous 1960's TV series created by Rod Serling, "Twilight Zone" of the 80ies each week presents one to three tales about some unusual situation that turns out to be even more unusual than initially suspected. Whether the tone of the story is horror, suspense or humor, there is always a surprise twist at the end.

In "Her Pilgrim Soul," two scientists must discover why the spirit of a woman is reliving a previous life within their holographic computer. In one scene the woman, in form of the girl she once was, relives a scene on a lake where her Daddy spanked her posterior "hard".

Punky Brewster is a show about a girl named Penelope "punky" Brewster. She is abandoned with her dog, Brandon in a supermarket by her mother. She doesn't want to stay in an orphanage, and finally befriends Henry Warnimont who adopts her.

From the Snow Canyon High School Drama Departments stage performance of the  two-act comedy written by American actor/playwright Larry Shue.


Set in Terre Haute, Indiana in late 1979, The Nerd presents the story of Willum Cubbert, an unassuming young architect, friends Tansy and Axel and unexpected houseguest Rick, who had saved Willum's life in Vietnam. Over the years, Willum and Rick had exchanged occasional letters and greeting cards, though they never met. Willum has promised Rick that he could come to him for help at any time. While Willum is hosting a dinner party for his boss, Rick shows up. His awkward manner and inappropriate behavior throw the occasion into shambles. Rick decides to move in. Eventually at his wit's end, Willum decides to take a chance on Axel's plan to get rid of Rick.

In this play there is the role of 11 year old boy Thor Waldgrave, one of the naughiest brats to ever grace the stage. Due to casting opportunities this role is often cast with a girl, and so often Thor becomes "Thora". And: Larry Shue's script requires a spanking for Thor/Thora. Here the original excerpt:

After cutting the acerbic interview short, Mildred seeks refuge at a local diner, Cristofors Café, where fate, and a waitress named Ida, will play a role in shaping her future.

Mildred brings a sample of her pies into the diner and they're a big hit with the customers. Soon she gets an order for 35 pies a week and the orders start to pile up from other restaurants as well. Veda discovers her waitress uniforms and Mildred is forced to admit what she does for a living. The selfish Veda thinks it's all so degrading.

These are the circumstances in which this spanking scene takes place, a scene described in the book as follows:

Veda had got up now, her eyes, hard, and cut in: "Aren't the pies bad enough? Did you have to degrade us by--"


Mildred caught her by both arms, threw her over one knee, whipped the kimono up with one motion, the pants down with another, and brought her bare hand down on Veda's bottom with all the force her fury could give her. Veda screamed and bit her leg. Mildred pulled loose, then beat the rapidly reddening bottom until she was exhausted, and Veda screamed as though demons were inside of her. Then Mildred let Veda slide to the floor, and sat there panting and fighting the nausea that was swelling in her stomach.


Presently Veda got up, staggered to the sofa, and flung herself down in tragic despair. Then she gave a soft laugh, and whispered, in sorrow rather than anger: "A waitress."

From an Italian movie based on the Novel "Dr. Gräsler, Badearzt" by Arthur Schnitzler.

In the scene a bratty girl throws a ball and hits a man, causing him to spill his tea. Her mother tells her to stop playing with the ball, but she doesn't and throws it again at him. Her mother finally gets fed up and begins to chase her around the house with a carpet beater, until the man finally stands up and scolds the girl, causing her once and for all to stop while also proving he is "father material." Ironically, the little girl's name in the film is Fanny) The mother is played by Miranda Richardson, the man is Keith Carradine (the bachelor).

From the Romanian Movie of 1964.

Amintiri din copilărie is one of the main literary contributions of Romanian author Ion Creangă. The largest of his two works in the memoir genre, it includes some of the most recognizable samples of first-person narratives in Romanian literature, and is considered by critics to be Creangă's masterpiece.


One of the first episodes detailed by the book relates to corporal punishment as recommended by the priest: children were made to sit on a chair known as Calul Balan ("White Horse") and strapped with a device called Sfântul Nicolai (or "Saint Nicholas", after the school's patron saint). The fragment is also a humorous retrospective account of his interactions with other children, from their favorite pastimes (trapping flies with the horologion) to Creangă's crush on Smărăndiţa and the misuse of corporal punishment by a jealous peer tutor.

Country is a 1984 American film which follows the trials and tribulations of a rural family as they struggle to hold onto their farm during the trying economic times experienced by family farms in 1980s.

Gilbert "Gil" Ivy and his wife Jewell have worked Jewell's family farm for years, and her father Otis doesn't want to see his family farm lost to foreclosure. However, low crop prices, pending loans and a tornado all put pressure on the struggling family as they face hardship and the prospect of losing their home and livelihood.

In this scene one of the daughter gets smacked for bothering her father, while he is thinking in sorrow.

Based on the classic children's novel by Louise Fitzhugh.

Harriet Welsh  is an eleven-year-old sixth grader young spy who is best friends with Simon "Sport" Rocque  and Janie Gibbs. She lives a privelledged life with her parents and her nanny, Katherine "Ole Golly" (Rosie O'Donnell). Harriet and her friends are enemies with mainly Marion Hawthorne . When Marion Hawthorne finds Harriet's private notebook and begins reading out all of Harriet's notes, everyone finds that they are all hurtful and even Sport and Janie turn their backs on Harriet.

The Film then deals with how Harriet wins her friends  back.

The little smacking scene was discovered through a dialogue exerpt from imdb.com, where it says:


Ole Golly: The time has come, the walrus said...
Harriet M. Welsch: To talk of many things...
Ole Golly: Of shoes and ships and ceiling wax...
Harriet M. Welsch: Of cabbages and kings...
Ole Golly: And why the sea is boiling hot...
Harriet M. Welsch: And whether pigs have wings!
Ole Golly: Do you have any wings?
Harriet M. Welsch: Yeah.
Ole Golly: [starts "spanking" her] Yeah? Let me see 'em!

That quotation was sent to me by Cinndunc. I scanned the movie several times, but there is no scene with that rhyming that turns into a smacking occasion. Yet there is a scene with smacking but there is nor rhyming beforehand. Probably a script change while shooting.
The only smacking incident in the film is this "bringig to bed" scene and in a playful manner.

Kate McQuean  is a Miami lawyer who—in the course of a divorce proceeding—attempts to seize a 157-foot freighter docked off the Florida coast in lieu of unpaid alimony. The freighter is the current base of operations of Ilya Pavel Kazak  a former KGB agent .
When Kate is unintentionally hit by a stray bullet, Miami detective Max Kirkpatrick is assigned to the case, and then an attempt is made on Kate's life. Max becomes her protector, as it turns out that Kazak wants Kate dead.
In the scene in question Kate and Max enter the lobby of a hotel and want to get into the elevator when Kate sees a mother who starts spanking her daughter. She wants to interrupt but Max won't let her.
The existence of that scene was suggested to me by an anonymous contributor who emailed me via US email, he/she did not even give me a nickname to credit him/her. All credits go to that person.

The rare australian movie is based on a novel by Kate Grenville. It is fictional but loosely based on the life of legendary eccentric Bea Miles, who recited Shakespeare for a dollar on the streets of Sydney and rode taxis for a sonnet.

The story is told in flashbacks after Lilian Singer is released from a mental institution after 40 years of incarceration by her father for being too wild. Her release is eventually secured by her eccentric Aunt Kitty and her brother, John. Lilian starts to carve out a place for herself.

During a flashback, Lilian recalls being spanked by her strict and cruel father in his study in three different ages: as a young girl (M/f), a teenager, then a grown woman in her early 20s (M/F).
