The young executive of an advertisement agency, Darrin Stephens marries a beautiful woman, Samantha Stephens. On their honeymoon, Sam discloses a secret to him: she is a witch with magic powers. He makes her promise him that she will live like a mortal, without using witchcraft and spells in their lives, but sometimes she uses her magic to help Darrin and herself. Sam's mother, Endora does not accept her mortal son-in-law, hates him and can hardly say his name correctly.

In this Halloween episode Endora changes Darrin into a werewolf and then changes into a kid herself in order to make her "trick or treat" tour.

NEW EVIDENCE supports the existence of spanking scene in that movie, slthough it seems to have been cut for the DVD version.

While researching for another movie I stumbled upon a line in a plot summary on turner classic movies. The line says:

Mr. Layton, learning the truth about his daughter's behavour, gives Cecelia a well-deserved spanking

The summary was about a movie called „The Under-Pup“ from 1939, a musical picture designed for rising child star Gloria Jean. But another child actress stole the show and got the attention of John Ford: Shirley Mills, who played the role of Cecelia

Here is the original summary:

An essay on trees wins Pip-Emma Binns, a daughter of the New York tenements, a trip to the summer retreat of the Penguins, an exclusive girls's camp headed by the snobby Cecelia Layton and sponsored by the icy spinster Miss Thornton and her assistant, Priscilla Adams. Pip-Emma's eccentric family drives to the train station in their WPA truck to bid her farewell, thus alienating her from all the girls except Janet Cooper, who befriends Pip-Emma on the train to camp. At camp, Cecelia and Letty Lou become Pip-Emma's tormentors, but Priscilla and her boyfriend Denis, the camp's athletic director, become her allies. Although Pip-Emma tames the wild sons of Tolio, the camp's handyman, the camp itself is a disappointment to her because she must make her own bed and perform other chores that are part of her routine at home. The snootiness of the Penguins and their refusal to include her in their activities also add to the little girl's unhappiness. However, Pip-Emma melts the icy reserve of Miss Thornton, and when Cecelia and the others vote to send her home, the sponsor vetoes the order. Discovering that her friend Janet has an unhappy home life, Pip-Emma writes Grandpa to prevent the divorce of Janet's parents by telling them that their daughter is ill. The Coopers rush to the camp, where they are treated by the sight of Janet winning a swimming race, all due to Pip-Emma's coaching. Meanwhile, Cecelia's father arrives at camp in response to his daughter's charge that Pip-Emma is abusing her. At these accusations, Pip-Emma tearfully leaves the camp, but Grandpa forces her to return, and Mr. Layton, learning the truth about his daughter's behavour, gives Cecelia a well-deserved spanking. Pip-Emma is then accepted by the other girls as a full-fledged Penguin and awarded a uniform.

As it turned out, that the DVD version of that film does not contain a spanking scene. It is merely a vague, verbally implied spanking (one line of text). Nevertheless here is the clip:

Here is the testominy of a contributor called Sweetspot wo vividly remembers the scene: "The spanking scene must have been cut out of the version you have. I remember that the girl is spanked over her dad's lap in a scene that is all to briefly on screen when several of the cast open a door and see dad spanking daughter."

This telenovela marked the first time an Afro-Brazilian actress played the lead role on a TV show. In 2005, SBT re-aired Xica da Silva.


It is a romanticized retelling of the true story of Chica da Silva, an 18th century African slave in the state of Minas Gerais, who attracts the attention of João Fernandes de Oliveira, a Portuguese sent by Lisbon with the Crown's exclusive contract for mining diamonds, and eventually becomes his lover.


A part of the series deals with the family of town mayer Capitano Gonçalo. His two daughters Ana and Isabel regurlarly get into mischief of different sorts, which earns them regular on – screen spankings!

A Spanish description of this scene says:

Hattie, a professional at the elegant home of Madame Nell, and Hattie's 12-year-old daughter Violet are the only ones awake when photographer Ernest J. Bellocq comes by with his camera. He takes photographs of Hattie and fascinates Violet. Over a few months, Nell arranges for the auction of Violet's virginity, Hattie marries and goes to St. Louis, abandoning Violet in the brothel. Bellocq continues to spend time with Violet, entranced by her beauty, youthful and photogenic face.

It makes you wonder if they meant to show the first swat at all and if it was a separate take!)

The Unloved is a British television drama.

It is about an eleven year old girl called Lucy growing up in a children's home in the UK's care system, and shown through her perspective. Having been neglected by her estranged mother and father, she is placed in a children’s home. Through her eyes, we follow Lucy’s struggle to cope with the system. Her saving is her self-belief and her certainty that she is being watched over and protected by the holy spirit. Hers is a heroic quest for love, beauty and transcendence.

The Hollywood version so to speak.

Claudette Colbert is a young freethinking woman living in Salem, Massachusetts during the notorious 17th century "witch trials". Colbert falls in love with adventurer Fred MacMurray, causing no end of scandal with the Puritan townsfolk. A hateful little girl (Bonita Granville) pretends to be "possessed", thereby convincing the Salemites that Claudette is a witch. Tried and convicted of sorcery, the poor girl is sent to be burned at the stake, but is rescued in the nick of time by MacMurray, who convinces the townsfolk that they've been the victim of a hoax. Maid of Salem earned a footnote in entertainment history in 1937 when it was booed off the screen of New York's Paramount theatre by fans who wanted to see the evening's real attraction--a performance by Benny Goodman and his orchestra.

This movie contains two spanking related scenes.


In scene one, the hateful thrirteen year old, who later starts the whole witch hunt receives a good offscreen strapping for having been caught reading inappropiate literature.

From the beautiful filmization of the legendary, pulitzer prize winning novel by Harper Lee, that celebrates the 50ieth anniversary of its first publication in 2010.


The story takes place during three years of the Great Depression in the fictional "tired old town" of Maycomb, Alabama. The narrator, six-year-old Scout Finch, lives with her older brother Jem and their widowed father Atticus, a middle-aged lawyer. Jem and Scout befriend a boy named Dill who visits Maycomb to stay with his aunt for the summer. The three children are terrified of, and fascinated by, their neighbor, the reclusive "Boo" Radley.
Atticus is appointed by the court to defend a black man named Tom Robinson, who has been accused of raping Mayella Ewell, a young white woman. Although many of Maycomb's citizens disapprove, Atticus agrees to defend Tom to the best of his ability. Other children taunt Jem and Scout for Atticus' actions, calling him a "nigger-lover". Scout is tempted to stand up for her father's honor by fighting, even though he has told her not to. Finally the world of the children breaks apart....

In this scene young Scout and her brother Jem bring poor Walter Cunningham, a classmate, home as a lunch guest. Due to his inexperienced table manners, Scout makes a derogatory remark, which leeds the black housekeeper Calpurnia to call her into the kitchen, scold her and give her a good smack on her bottom.
Later out on the porch, her father talks to her and teaches her mildly one of the lessons of life.

NOTE: In the german dubbing of that movie (although not in the german subtitles) the words that Scout is mumbling in the porch scene after the smacking are translated differently to what she is actually saying.

In the german dubbing:

SCOUT: Calpurnia scolded me. And she smacked me on the bottom.
ATTICUS: (very dryly) How terrible.

NOTE 2: The writers of that german dubbing probably took the liberty to write that differently from the fact, that there is a – different - scene in the novel where Scout is actually spanked (by her uncle Jack), that does not appear in the film.

TWO WOMEN (Italian: La Ciociara, roughly translated as "[The Woman] from Ciociaria") is a 1960 Italian film inspired from neo realism, based on the novel by Alberto Moravia.

The story centers on Cesira, a widowed Roman shopkeeper, and Rosetta, her devoutly religious teenage daughter, during World War II. To escape the Allied bombing of Rome, Cesira and her daughter flee southern Lazio for her native Ciociaria, a rural, mountainous province of central Italy. After the Italian liberation, mother and daughter decide to go back to Rome. Along the way, however, an unexpected tragedy happens. As they rest in a bombed out church, they are captured and raped. Rosetta is particularly traumatized and has contrasting feelings for her mother.

Before the scene in question, Rosetta disappears one evening to go out with an older boy, without asking or telling her mother.
Early the next morning the couple return and Cesira is furious with her daughter. She demands to know why Rosetta didn't tell her where she was going. Because you were sleeping, is her answer. Cesira becomes so furious, that she actually gives the young girl a spanking.

In a French teenage movie oft hat time , given the Frenchs attitude towards what they call „la fessée“ , this should or at least could point towards a spanking scene in that picture.

From a yugoslavian movie based on a novel by Dragoslav Mihailovic:

A young teenage girl is sent to an orphanage when she becomes too much for her mother to handle. Lilika is sent to the institution after her mother discovers she is stealing fruit from the local market. She is very protective of her younger brother and a mentally challenged friend, and takes a liking to her counselor. She dreams of having an ordinary life and escaping the juvenile home she regards as a prison. Lilika fantasizes about her future as she hopes for a way out of the orphanage.

In this scene Lilika returns after shed had been running away from home. Her father catches her, takes her between his legs and spanks her in the middle of the yard, with both hands. When she runs to her mom, she gives her two swats as well.

The procedure was shot from a most unfortunate angle: The roof of the opposite house.

Natty has a series of adventures and mis- adventures in various farmhouses, police stations, hobo camps, reform schools, and boxcars.


Here she meets a stern landlady when she rents a room,who gives her a stinging one - smacker.

This film has a remarkeable reputation as a commercial failure.


The scene depicts the fathers homecoming from wark in the evening. He is welcomed by his young daughter who had been washed and isn't clothed yet. When she claims that she feels cold, he gives her three playful, warm smacks on her naked behind.

They are shopkeepers in a remote area of the Eastern Transvaal and, despite Sandras mixed-race appearance, have lovingly brought her up as their white little girl. Sandra is sent to a boarding school in the neighbouring town of Piet Retief, where her (white) brother Leon is also studying, but parents and teachers complain that she doesnt belong.

The film's title comes from the phrase "Show me on the doll where you were touched", often asked of young children who have been the victims of sexual abuse. Thomas Mignone helms this distressing tale, which follows several victims of child abuse as they try to make sense of their adult lives. Mignone combines some impressive visual effects with brutal interactions between Balery and her clients to tell this unsettling story.

THE STOLEN JOOLS (1931) FUNNY LINE

The Stolen Jools (the writing is correct) is a short comedy film produced by the Masquers Club of Hollywood, featuring many cameo appearances by the film stars of the day. They appeared in the film to help raise funds for the National Variety Artists Tuberculosis Sanitarium.

This film was thought to be a lost film until a print was found in the UK in the
1990ies.


At the "Screen Stars Annual Ball" Norma Shearer has her jewels stolen. The police must find them and return them to her.
Finally it turns out, that child star Mitzi Green took them when they were left over, in order to prevent them from being stolen. She gives them to the police man and then has one of the strangest closing lines ever used in a movie (since it has ABSOLUTELY NO connection to the plot or the action that took place):


"And the moral of the story is: Never spank a child on an empty stomach"
Followed by a dull giggle.


NOTE: Mitzi Green was the recipient of a playful spanking in "Honey (1931)".

BEFORE WOMEN HAD WINGS is a 1997 television film, starring Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Barkin, based on the story by Connie May Fowler about a mother whose abusive husband commits suicide, and she starts to violently abuse her two daughters. It is only then a kindly black lady becomes good friend with her youngest daughter, Bird, who can escape the harsh realities of life.

The mother,Glory Marie eventually discovers that Bird has been visiting Zora, the black woman, and violently beats her daughter with a belt and leaves.

Based on Lillian Hellmans play of the same name: Best friends Karen Wright and Martha Dobie are headmistresses at a successful private school for girls in New England. Mary Tilford, a spiteful, angry child, tells her grandmother that Martha's Aunt Lily thought those feelings were "unnatural." Grandma believes her and pulls Mary out of school. The word quickly spreads and within days Karen and Martha are faced with empty classrooms...

In the scene in question, naughty Mary Tilford plays ill, so Dr. Cardin gets called and when he discovers that she made it up, he gives her an extremely sound smack on her behind.


NOTE: The play was filmed before, 1936, under the title "THESE THREE", also directed by William Wyler, and there Bonita Granville received for her performance as Mary not only an Oscar nomination but also a very sound smack by Joel McCrea

This mostly unrelated sequel to Cat People (1942) has Amy, the young daughter of Oliver and Alice Reed. Amy is a very imaginative child who has trouble differentiating fantasy from reality, and has no friends her own age as a result. She makes an imaginary friend though, her father's dead first wife Irena who appears as a ghost.

Since her parents do not believe her that her invisible friend is real, her father threatens her with a spanking when she continues to phantasize, and when she still claims to see her, he takes the child upstairs to spank her.
