From the infamous movie about the awakening of sexuality:

Ju is only nine years old, but he has a precocious interest in grown-up sexuality, and boundless energy, curiosity and daring to covertly seek answers to the questions he and his peers are asking. His cousin Nene is almost ancient, at 15, but she is willing to suffer some exploration on his part to help further his education.

In the scene in question a family argument arises due to the poverty of the clan. When daughter Pa(yes, that's her name),Ju's sister, provokes her father in that context, she gets vigorously beaten with a sort of crop.

That clip was discovered and suggested to me by cinndunc, the version presented here, with audio not out of sync (although the english subtitles slightly are), was uploaded by theforbiddengarden. All credit goes to both of them.
