THE CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE (1944) M/f OFFSCREEN



This mostly unrelated sequel to Cat People (1942) has Amy, the young daughter of Oliver and Alice Reed. Amy is a very imaginative child who has trouble differentiating fantasy from reality, and has no friends her own age as a result. She makes an imaginary friend though, her father's dead first wife Irena who appears as a ghost.

Since her parents do not believe her that her invisible friend is real, her father threatens her with a spanking when she continues to phantasize, and when she still claims to see her, he takes the child upstairs to spank her.

NOTE: Ann Carter was an offscreen spankee in "Blondie hits the Jackpot" (1949), too.
