In this unknown
production, it seems that the girls mother has divorced her father and lives
with another man.
The very scene depicts a situation when the girls father
comes, to take her for the weekend. But after an argument in the house, the
girl runs off into the street uncontrollably, almost causing an accident with
her dads car. The father gets out, grabs her, ad delivers some very sound
spanks to his daughters backside, while the stepfather tries to intervene,
which makes the situation worse, because he gets a punch, and the little girl
receives more whacks with a branch.
This is one
of the few cases where two different sorts of chastisement are used in one
scene.
