In this spinoff of "Soap", Benson DuBois is sent out East to serve as butler to widowed state governor Gene Gatling, an honest but bumbling servant of the people.

Katie, the governors daughter, is lying and covering up. She told some friends at school about a bad remark her father, the governor, made about a senator. It ended up in the newspapers. The governor knew that only someone in the mansion would have heard him say it. Katie keeps quiet. As a result, other people are blamed for it, and one person gets fired. Katie finally decides to tell her father that she has been lying. She receives an off screen spanking.
